Activities

We’ve developed a number of materials that will help students to demonstrate their opinions and creativity, as well as play their part in the Enough Food For Everyone IF campaign.

Enough Food For Everyone IF

An introduction to IF and an overview of the campaign - including the challenges it’s tackling, the solutions being proposed, the changes it wants to see, and how young people can get involved.

This presentation could be used in assembly, form time, circle time, or as part of a full lesson along with the other resources offered below.

Suitable for Key Stages 2 – 4.

Who can make change happen?

A learning resource that looks at how different groups of people – from food producers and the UK public to national governments and international organisations - can have an impact on ensuring there is enough food for everyone, and highlighting the role each plays.

This resource will enable students to understand the various ways we can meet the challenges we face, and help them to construct their own messages on the change they want to see.

Learning outcomes: analysing and extracting information, thinking critically about issues, presentation skills.

Suitable for Key Stages 3 and 4.

Plate activity

The plate activity provides an opportunity for young people to write their own "Enough Food For Everyone IF..." message to world leaders on a plate template. There is guidance included on how to run a session involving the plates.

Your class or group may want to use the plates to create a display, make videos or design their own activity. Please be as creative as you like - just remember to send us photos, videos, artwork or anything else your students have created to make their voice heard by those in power.

Teachers should send completed plates to us by the end of May half term, as we’ll be arranging to hand them in to the UK Government before the Hunger Summit and the G8, so that we can highlight young people’s concerns about global hunger and their wish to see action to fix the broken food system.

Details of where to send the plates are on the activity sheet.

Good luck – and don’t forget to send your plates and other actions back to us!

Learning outcomes: persuasive writing, communicating complex issues, developing political literacy.

Suitable for all Key Stages.
